Everyday Carry (your cross) Christian EDC Patch

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.  There is a community of people who like to be prepared. We use the term everyday carry to describe the gear that we regularly carry. We also refer to it as our EDC. This can vary from what is in your pocket, to what you carry in a special bag that you always want to have on hand, in the car or like I do, in a haversack custom made by The Hidden Woodsmen. As I read this verse, Luke 9:23, it struck me to republish the fact that Jesus wants us to carry our cross everyday. I had the idea for this design, and translated it into a Christian EDC patch! Lord willing this patch can bear witness to the lost, and remind us that we need to carry our cross daily, and purposefully follow Jesus Christ. Common gear for someone’s EDC will be some kind of well made folding knife, a multi tool like a Swiss Army knife or Leatherman, a reliable pen, and a compact but high quality tactical flashlight. For men, a good wristwatch or pocket watch might help us to keep the time. Interestingly there are other spiritual applications to the idea of having our EDC handy. Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. We need the sword of the Spirit more than any knife, no matter how well made. The word of God hidden within is sharper than any two edged sword! (Hebrew 4:12) Job wished to declare the victory found in his Redeemer with an iron pen!  Job 19:23-25 Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book! That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever! For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And we know the true Light of the world, and we are called to share His glorious light!  Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.  Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Praise God for HE goes before us, and provides all that we need to be prepared!
