Love. The word itself is overused and misapplied more now than ever, perhaps. In Country music songs, on soap operas, in romance novels or so-called reality shows. Many people have heard John 3:16, (on the front design of this Christian shirt) or seen it held up on a Rainbow-wigged fan’s sign at a baseball game. They may not have heard the Gospel centered message of Romans 5:8. God proved His love for us, in that while we were yet sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US. This is a message of God’s LOVE. If we know that a violent hurricane is headed for a loved one’s town, perhaps an elderly Veteran without an iPhone7 or a weather app, and we don’t warn them to prepare, is that love? No – love is an action, a verb indeed and in deed, more than just a word or an emotional reaction of affection. How much more do loved ones and strangers alike, our neighbors, need to hear of God’s love for them, which can rescue them from eternal damnation!? Let us be bold and promote / speak His truth in love wherever we go! John 3:16 reminds “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Romans 5:8 declares “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” These two verses are power packed with Gospel centered, Jesus centered TRUTH! Let’s get the WORD out!
